About

The Women’s Program offers safe, low-barrier services to pregnant and childbearing-aged women in Red Deer who are experiencing vulnerability due to place or circumstance. The program uses a harm reduction approach that focuses on meeting women and their families where they are at today.

For clients that may have disengaged with or been removed from programming or service provision at other agencies, our Women’s Program staff work alongside them, creating a safe first step to reengage with health and social supports and services.

Whether you’re looking for advice, direct support, or are simply looking for someone to listen, our compassionate team is available to provide discreet, judgement-free health and wellness support.

Reducing barriers to health and social services resulting in improved health outcomes for women in the program and the infants born to them.

Supporting Her Needs

We aim to address the holistic needs of each woman, often facilitating connections to community and medical support and services. This includes:

  • Pregnancy
  • Personal health
  • Housing
  • Family and legal support
  • Addiction
  • Mental health
  • and more

Appointment Accompaniment and Advocacy

In addition to services delivered through our own office, our staff work to advance health outcomes of women through referrals, appointment accompaniment and advocating on behalf of women in order to improve service providers’ awareness and understanding of this vulnerable population’s unique experiences, situation, and needs.
