Giving Back

About

Twice a week, two Turning Point staff team up with clients and walk throughout Red Deer’s downtown streets and parks with the purpose of cleaning up sharps and other potentially harmful debris. This program gives clients the opportunity to earn an honorarium while helping support a safer community. Shifts are two hours in length and all clients will be provided with gloves, masks, and essential tools for safe pickup and disposal of sharps at the start of each shift.

How to Participate

If you’re a client and want to be added to our Giving Back calendar, call or visit our office during office hours and let one of our staff know your interest in being added to the schedule. Once you’re added, all you need to do is remember your shift and show up! – All first-time workers are required to fill out an agreement form prior to their first shift. Forms are available at our office and will be distributed by staff.

Our Giving Back program is possible through the continued support of the Rotary Club of Red Deer- Urban Spirits. We are incredibly thankful for their continued contributions towards safer, healthier communities and this opportunity for vulnerable populations to earn an income.
